“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord”
On Sunday, 7th September 2025, the Thangkhal Baptist Church, New Delhi, will joyfully celebrate its 7th Anniversary Thanksgiving Day.
This occasion is not only a time to give thanks
but also a moment to look back at the journey that began with prayer, faith,
and courage.
For the first time in Thangkhal history, a
Baptist church under the affiliation of the American Baptist Association was
inaugurated in New Delhi on Sunday, 2nd September 2018. TBC (ABA) Headquarters,
Manipur President, (Late) Elder Thangsuanhang, declared the inauguration of the
‘Thangkhal Baptist Church (ABA), Delhi.’ This was followed by a blessing prayer
offered by (Late) Rev. Khaikhanthang, who also served as the speaker for the
Inaugural Worship Service. That day marked a new chapter for the Thangkhal
community in the capital city, providing a spiritual home where members could
worship, fellowship, and grow together in Christ.
Just as the Israelites under Joshua entered the
Promised Land after years of wandering, the establishment of the Thangkhal
Baptist Church is a testimony of God's faithfulness. The past seven years have
not always been easy, but every step has been guided by the Lord's hand. Like
Joshua, who reminded the people to remain faithful to the God who delivered
them, we too are called to remember that every blessing comes from Him.
This Thanksgiving Day is a time to: Thank God
for His unfailing love and provision throughout these seven years. Celebrate
the unity and fellowship of the church family. Rededicate ourselves to serving
God with faith, courage, and obedience. As we gather in worship and
thanksgiving, let us echo Joshua's words and commit that as individuals,
families, and as a church: “We will serve the Lord.” May this anniversary
remind us that the journey of faith continues, and the best days are still
ahead for the Thangkhal Baptist Church in New Delhi.
