Kyaukme, Oct. 24, 2025 — A tragic airstrike by the Myanmar military council has killed one monk and injured seven novices after a 500-pound bomb was dropped on a monastery in Ka Pawng village, Kyaukme Township, northern Shan State.
According to local residents, the attack occurred today evening around 4 p.m. when a military jet bombed the monastery compound. The explosion claimed the life of a monk and left several novices—aged 4, 13, 14, 17, and 18—along with a 96-year-old elderly person, seriously wounded.
"It is known that one monk has passed away for now," a local source confirmed.
