THE 68th
THADOU STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION
FOUNDATION DAY MESSAGE
29th October, 2025
On this historic occasion of the 68th Foundation Day of the Thadou Students’ Association (TSA), the TSA-GHQ/AITSA extends warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to all members, leaders, and well-wishers across India and abroad.
Founded in 1957 at Motbung, Manipur, the TSA has been the enduring voice of education, unity, and Thadou identity. For 68 years, the Association has stood resilient through trials and transitions, driven by the indomitable spirit of the Thadou people — a spirit that no conflict or crisis can silence.
The theme for this year, “68 Years of Resilience: Thadou Spirit Beyond Boundaries”, deeply resonates with our present reality. The 2023 Manipur violence has left a deep and lasting scar on the Thadou people. Many TSA Branches and Blocks in Manipur remain subdued or inactive due to the prevailing circumstances and the dominance of Kuki supremacy. The Thadou community was misidentified as Kukis and tragically caught in the middle of a conflict not of its making. As one of the worst-affected communities, the Thadous have suffered immense loss of life, property, and displacement. Yet, in the face of hardship, we continue to stand firm — upholding peace, resilience, and the spirit of communal harmony. For we believe that peace is not for the weak or the timid, but for the bold and the strong.
Despite these adversities, we stand strong and assertive of our true roots and identity as Thadous. We categorically reject all attempts to misrepresent or subsume our distinct identity. At the same time, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to peace, justice, and coexistence. The TSA believes that the path forward lies not in division or hostility, but in mutual understanding and dialogue. We therefore call for greater community solidarity and cooperation between the Thadou people and the wider Manipur Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to restore peace and rebuild trust.'
The TSA continues to operate as one united body — from the Central Working Committee (CWC) to Executive Members (EM) of its Branches, Blocks, and Units across India. Together, we carry forward the mission of our founders: to serve, to educate, and to preserve the Thadou identity with dignity and courage.
As we commemorate this 68th milestone, let us renew our faith in the Thadou Spirit — unbroken, boundless, and beyond boundaries. May we rise again, stronger and more united, for our people and for peace in our land.
Long Live TSA! Long Live the Thadou People!
Thadou Spirit Beyond Boundaries!
