The 10th February, 2026
The Konsaram Village Authority (KVA) unequivocally condemns the barbaric act of arson carried out on the midnight of 9th February, 2026 at around 11:55 pm, wherein approximately 30 unidentified Vaiphei youths, hailing from Saronphai, a Vaiphei village, set ablaze the residential house belonging to Shri Azan Abonmai, S/o (Late) Kwaklei Abonmai of K. Lungwiram Naga Village under Sapermeina Police Station, Kangpokpi District.
This heinous and premeditated attack was orchestrated by Thangkhulen Vaiphei (Chief of L. Munlai); Haopu Vaiphei (Chief of Leilon Khunou); Lalboi Vaiphei (Chief of Leilon Vaiphei) and Thangboi Vaiphei (Chief of Saronphai). Such criminal acts are not only a blatant violation of law and order but also a direct assault on peaceful coexistence and communal harmony.
Currently, K. Lungwiram Naga Village has been seized, with its inhabitants held in a hostage-like condition by aggressors, resulting in a grave humanitarian crisis. The villagers are living under constant fear, insecurity and deprivation, with serious threats to their lives, dignity and property.
Konsaram Village Authority appeals to the Government of Manipur and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, to immediately intervene by deploying adequate security forces to protect the lives and properties of the innocent Naga villagers of K. Lungwiram, free them from the expansionist aggressors and ensure urgent humanitarian assistance, including relief, safety and rehabilitation.
KVA firmly asserts that silence or inaction at this juncture would only embolden aggressors and deepen the crisis. We therefore demand swift, decisive and impartial action to restore peace, justice and the rule of law in the State of Manipur.
