Lamka, April 8: The United Kuki National Army (UKNA) has denied any involvement in the recent attack on civilians at Tronglaobi in Bishnupur district, calling the allegations baseless and misleading.
In a clarification statement, UKNA said the claims linking the group to the incident are unfounded and appear to be an attempt to misattribute blame in an already tense situation. The organisation reiterated that it does not support or engage in violence against innocent civilians, especially children.
UKNA also stated that it has been working to maintain peace in buffer zones and prevent communal escalation. It appreciated the role of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in controlling the situation and preventing further violence.
Further, the group rejected reports claiming that its members were arrested in connection with the incident, calling such reports false and irresponsible. It urged the media and authorities to act responsibly and avoid spreading unverified information.
