Imphal, May 11, 2026: The Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Manipur, has announced the commencement of the 3rd Round Classical Swine Fever (CSF) Vaccination Programme across the state from May 15, 2026, under the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme (LHDCP).
According to an official press release issued by the Directorate of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, the vaccination drive is being conducted under a centrally sponsored scheme of the Government of India to protect pig populations and strengthen disease control measures in the state.
Classical Swine Fever (CSF) is a highly contagious viral disease affecting pigs and has remained a major concern for pig farmers due to heavy economic losses caused by mortality, reduced productivity, and disease outbreaks.
The department stated that the vaccination programme will be carried out following the prescribed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Government of India.
The vaccination will be provided free of cost to eligible pig populations across Manipur.
The department has appealed to all pig farmers and stakeholders to extend full cooperation to field staff during the vaccination campaign and ensure timely vaccination of their pigs.
Officials emphasized that active participation of farmers is essential to prevent the spread of CSF and safeguard the pig farming sector in the state.
