CONDOLENCE, CONDEMNATION AND EARNEST APPEAL FOR PEACE
The Zeliangrong Baptist Churches Council North East India expresses our profound grief and extends deepest condolences on the tragic loss of lives resulting from the unfortunate ambush targeting leaders and members of the Thadou Baptist Churches Association which occurred while they were en route from Churachandpur to Kangpokpi District, on 13th May 2026.
ZBCCNEI stands in unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families, the Thadou Baptist Churches Association, and all those affected by this devastating tragedy. We pray fervently that the departed souls find eternal rest in peace, and that the grieving families, the injured, and their communities receive divine comfort, resilience, and healing amid this profound sorrow.
We strongly and unequivocally condemn such barbaric acts of violence against Christian leaders, ministers, and innocent civilians. These deplorable incidents not only shatter lives but also erode the foundational pillars of peace, harmony, mutual trust, and coexistence that bind our diverse communities in Manipur and beyond.
In this critical moment, we issue a sincere and urgent appeal to all communities, civil society groups, authorities, and concerned stakeholders: exercise maximum restraint, inflammatory rhetoric, and prioritize dialogue over discord. Let us recommit to upholding mutual respect, empathy, understanding, and the shared values of humanity. Together, we must work tirelessly toward reconciliation, justice, and sustainable peace for the welfare and prosperity of all people in Manipur.
May divine wisdom guide us, compassion unite us, and enduring peace prevail among all communities.
