Canada Thrash Qatar 6-0 as David Nets Hat-trick

Canada produced a dominant display to defeat Qatar 6-0 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group B match at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on Wednesday, 18 June 2026.

Canada, coached by Jesse Marsch, took control early through Cyle Larin before Jonathan David scored twice to give the hosts a comfortable 3-0 lead at half-time. David later completed his hat-trick, while Nathan Saliba added another goal. Qatar's Mohammed Manai also scored an own goal as the Canadians ran riot.

Qatar, under coach Julen Lopetegui, struggled throughout the match and found themselves under constant pressure from the Canadian attack.

The match turned even more difficult for Qatar after two players were sent off. Homam Ahmed received a red card in the first half, while Assim Madibo was later dismissed for a reckless tackle on Canada's Ismaël Koné.

Koné suffered a serious leg injury and was stretchered off the pitch before being taken for medical treatment.

Canada finished the match with six goals and moved into a strong position in Group B, while Qatar were left searching for their first points of the tournament.

Canada will next face Switzerland on 24 June 2026, while Qatar will take on Bosnia and Herzegovina on the same day in their final Group B match.
