Security forces recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition and protective equipment during intensive search operations conducted on June 17, 2026, at multiple locations in Leilon Vaiphei, Leilon Khunou, L. Munlui and Konsakhul villages under Leimakhong Police Station in Kangpokpi district, Manipur.
According to officials, the recovered items included 11 single-barrel 12-bore guns, 294 live rounds of 12-bore ammunition, two packages of gunpowder, 34 empty 12-bore ammunition cases and six bulletproof vests.
During the operation, security forces also dismantled 30 bunkers, outposts and strategic camps found in the vicinity of the villages.
Four individuals were detained during the operation and are being verified further, officials said.
