Lamka, June 21, 2026 (DIO): The District Administration, Churachandpur, led by Deputy Commissioner Shri Krishna Kumar, observed International Yoga Day 2026 at the Panchayat Resource Centre, Mini Secretariat Complex, Churachandpur, on Sunday.
A trained yoga instructor conducted the session, guiding participants through various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation exercises aimed at improving physical health and mental well-being. Government departments across the district also observed the day in their respective offices, with a large number of staff members taking part in the programme.
Speaking to media persons after the event, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of yoga as a holistic practice that combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation. He said regular yoga practice helps improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, maintain good posture, boost immunity, and reduce stress and anxiety. He added that yoga can be practised anywhere—at home, in parks, or even in workplaces—without the need for costly equipment.
Meanwhile, all government, government-aided, ADC, and private schools under the Zonal Education Officer, Churachandpur, also organised International Yoga Day celebrations from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Teachers, students, parents, and school staff actively participated in the programmes held across the district.
