PHERZAWL, June 25, 2026 (DIO): In a proactive step aligned with the observance of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Pherzawl Police conducted a comprehensive drug awareness programme at St. Xavier School, Thanlon, under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan.”
The initiative aimed to educate students on the dangers of substance
abuse and encourage healthier lifestyle choices. The programme witnessed active
participation from medical personnel of the Primary Health Centre, along with
teachers and students from St. Xavier School and Convention English School.
Resource persons highlighted the physical, psychological, and social
impacts of drug addiction, stressing the importance of early awareness and
prevention. Students were encouraged to make informed decisions and resist peer
pressure. The interactive programme also allowed participants to engage in
discussions and clarify doubts related to substance abuse.
As a mark of commitment,
students and teachers collectively took a pledge to refrain from drug use and
contribute towards building a drug-free society.
The programme reflects the continued commitment of
Pherzawl Police and associated stakeholders to safeguard the well-being of
youth and promote a healthier community.
