Bro. Thomas Hauminthang Zou, hailing from Sugnu in Manipur, received his Diaconate Ordination from Archbishop John Moolachira of Guwahati at Oriens Theological College, Mawlai, Shillong, on Wednesday.
Bro. Zou belongs to Mary Help of Christians Church, Sugnu, located near St. Joseph's Parish, Sugnu. Both churches were reportedly burned during the violence that erupted in Manipur in May 2023.
Currently residing in Zoumun, Lamka, Bro. Zou has taken an important step toward priesthood through his ordination as a deacon. If God's willing, he is expected to be ordained as a priest in January 2027.
Family members, church leaders, and well-wishers have extended their congratulations and prayers, wishing him God's guidance and blessings as he prepares for a life of service to the Church and the community.
