COMMENDABLE ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FORWARD-LOOKING INITIATIVES OF THE PRINCIPAL, CHURACHANDPUR COLLEGE
- Free Wi-Fi connectivity is being established across the entire college campus, with the required funds already sanctioned, marking a major step towards building a modern, digitally empowered academic environment.
- The financial burden of collecting salary pay slips will henceforth be fully borne by the College Authority, reflecting a student- and staff-friendly administration committed to employee welfare.
- The remuneration for evaluation of answer scripts has been enhanced from ₹10 to ₹15 per script with effect from the Academic Session 2026–2027, recognizing and valuing the academic responsibilities of teachers.
- Installation of a large-capacity RO Drinking Water System is actively underway, demonstrating the administration's strong commitment to ensuring safe, hygienic, and uninterrupted drinking water for the entire college community.
- The College Foundation Day will be celebrated on a grand and inclusive scale with the participation of all teaching and non-teaching staff along with their families, while all former Principals will be honoured as distinguished guests in recognition of their invaluable contributions to the institution.
- All existing committees and clubs will be comprehensively reviewed and reconstituted within a short period to ensure greater efficiency, transparency, accountability, and active participation in institutional development.
- Every reconstituted committee and club will be provided with a start-up grant of ₹3,000 along with separate official registers for recording proceedings and maintaining financial accounts, thereby strengthening systematic governance, financial discipline, and institutional accountability.
- Construction of the NCC Room ceiling has been approved and will be undertaken to improve infrastructure, provide a better working environment for NCC cadets, and further strengthen discipline, leadership, and youth development within the college.
- A proposal has been submitted to the Directorate of University & Higher Education seeking the introduction of M.Sc. in Botany and M.Sc. in Zoology, thereby expanding postgraduate opportunities and strengthening science education in the institution.
- The College Website is being upgraded and redesigned to provide a more comprehensive, user-friendly, and transparent digital platform for students, staff, alumni, and stakeholders.
- Constructed two new NCC flagpoles, reinforcing institutional discipline, patriotism, and ceremonial infrastructure.
- Undertook major structural repairs and restoration of the Multipurpose Hall and Room No. 20, substantially improving academic and extracurricular facilities.
- Successfully constructed a new 340-foot deep borewell in front of the IGNOU Building, ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply for the institution.
- Carried out comprehensive cleaning, repair, and restoration of the Chemistry Department classroom and laboratory, thereby improving the quality of science education and laboratory safety.
- Installed more than ten new ceiling fans and executed extensive electrification works across various classrooms and buildings, greatly enhancing the learning environment.
- Installed eight new Syntex water storage tanks with durable iron stands, buckets, and essential accessories to ensure uninterrupted water availability in all campus toilets and washrooms.
- Demonstrated exceptional concern for student welfare by granting free admission to all nine College Students' Union Secretaries and the winners of the Mr. & Miss Freshers 2025 programme, in response to the Students' Union's request.
- Abolished the ₹100 Students' Identity Card fee, which had previously been collected twice, thereby removing an unnecessary financial burden and promoting student-friendly administrative reforms.
- Initiated a strategic proposal to the Directorate for the introduction of high-demand undergraduate programmes—Psychology, Home Science (B.A./B.Sc.), Social Work (B.S.W.), Computer Science (B.Sc.)—along with the revival of the Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) programme, with the objective of transforming Churachandpur College into a multidisciplinary centre of academic excellence and expanding quality higher education opportunities for the region.
- Formally pursued the installation of a Punjab National Bank ATM within the College campus to provide secure, convenient, and accessible banking facilities for students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community, thereby strengthening campus infrastructure and essential public services.
- Submitted a comprehensive proposal to the Directorate of University & Higher Education seeking the creation and sanction of additional teaching and non-teaching posts to address existing manpower shortages, enhance academic standards, improve administrative efficiency, and ensure sustainable institutional growth.
22. Initiated official proceedings with the Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University for the establishment of a Facilitation Centre at Churachandpur College to provide uninterrupted academic and administrative support for displaced students and staff of Manipur University during the ongoing crisis. (Under Process).
23. Submitted a formal proposal to the Vice-Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University for the establishment of a Facilitation Centre at Churachandpur College to ensure the continuity of education and institutional support for displaced students and staff of Dhanamanjuri University. (Under Process).
24. Prepared and finalized two comprehensive Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for submission to the Director (Planning), Government of Manipur, and the University Grants Commission (UGC) seeking financial assistance for the construction of a modern Conference Hall and a G+3 Academic Building, aimed at significantly strengthening the academic infrastructure and long-term institutional development of Churachandpur College.
