The Kuki National Army–Burma (KNA-B) has strongly denied allegations published by The Sangai Express on 2 July 2026, which claimed that the group infiltrated Indian territory and was involved in arson attacks in Kongkan Thana, Sangkalok, Choro, Namlee and Wanglee villages.
In a clarification issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity, KNA-B stated that it has no operational presence or military activities within India and that all its operations are confined exclusively to Myanmar. The organisation described the allegations as "false, malicious and entirely unsubstantiated", arguing that there is no credible evidence linking it to the reported incidents.
The statement further criticised the newspaper for relying on anonymous sources and unverified claims, saying that such reporting falls short of responsible journalistic standards. KNA-B also rejected what it described as repeated attempts by certain groups to associate it with incidents inside India, claiming these allegations are intended to damage its reputation and increase tensions along the Indo-Myanmar border.
KNA-B urged media organisations, civil society groups and the public to avoid spreading unverified information. It reaffirmed its commitment to operating only within Myanmar while pledging to continue refuting what it called false and malicious allegations against the organisation. The statement was issued from the KNA-B Headquarters on 2 July 2026.
