Kuki Inpi JTN Condemns Burning of Two Kuki Villages

Tamenglong, 9 July 2026: The Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong and Noney (Kuki Inpi JTN) has strongly condemned the reported burning of Nungthut Kuki Village and Khongmol Kuki Village in Noney district on 8 July 2026 at around 5:30 pm.

In a statement, the organisation described the deliberate burning of civilian homes as a grave violation of human dignity and the rule of law. It said such acts only deepen fear, suffering and mistrust among communities and are unacceptable under any circumstances.

The Kuki Inpi JTN expressed sympathy and solidarity with the affected families, praying for their safety, strength and early rehabilitation. It urged the Government of Manipur and security agencies to conduct a fair, impartial and time-bound investigation, identify those responsible, and bring them to justice. The organisation also called for immediate humanitarian relief, adequate security and necessary assistance for the affected families.

Reiterating that violence against innocent civilians can never be justified, Kuki Inpi JTN said lasting peace can only be achieved through justice, accountability and respect for human rights.
