Sadar Hills, August 13, 2026: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Sadar Hills, has strongly condemned the alleged hijacking and burning of a Bolero pickup vehicle belonging to a daily wage earner at Mayangkhang Thana Village in Kangpokpi district.
According to a press release issued by KSO Sadar Hills on Thursday, the vehicle belonging to Mr. Lamtinchon Chongloi was allegedly forcibly taken to Senapati district headquarters and subsequently burnt to ashes.
The organisation described the incident as a “heartless and barbaric” act that destroyed the livelihood of a poor daily wage earner, and said such acts have no place in a civilised society.
KSO Sadar Hills further stated that the people of Kangpokpi have endured an economic blockade imposed by the United Naga Council (UNC) for the past three months, while remaining silent in the interest of peace and communal harmony.
The organisation also claimed that Naga residents living within Kangpokpi district have continued to access essential necessities without any counter-blockade from the Kuki community despite the ongoing situation.
KSO Sadar Hills demanded that the concerned authorities come forward, take responsibility and compensate the victim for the loss at the earliest.
The organisation warned that failure to act could test its patience in maintaining humanitarian values and peaceful coexistence, adding that responsibility for any further development would rest with the perpetrators and the concerned authorities.
KSO Sadar Hills appealed for immediate action and justice.
