Mizoram Cabinet Approves ‘Ro Min Relsak Ang Che’ as State Song

THE Mizoram Council of Ministers has approved a proposal to adopt ‘Ro Min Relsak Ang Che’, composed by renowned Mizo composer Rokunga (L), as the official state song of Mizoram.

The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Cabinet Room of the Chief Minister’s Office, with Chief Minister Lalduhoma presiding.

Among the key agenda items, the Cabinet considered and approved a proposal submitted by the General Administration Department (GAD) to adopt the song as Mizoram’s official state song.

The title ‘Ro Min Relsak Ang Che’, literally meaning ‘Be Thou Our Counsellor’, reflects a plea for guidance and responsible governance.

Following the Cabinet’s approval, the proposal will now be placed before the forthcoming session of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly for final approval. If approved by the Assembly, the song will formally become the official state song of Mizoram.
