Oasis College Hosts Webinar on Kuki-Zo Socio-Political Roots

Oasis College, Kangpokpi, Manipur, in collaboration with Kachinland College, will organise a one-day webinar on “The Socio-Political History of the Kuki-Zo People in North East India” on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The webinar is scheduled from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm and will feature two speakers: Dr D. Letkhojam Haokip, Associate Professor in the Department of History at Gauhati University, Assam, and Dr Robert Thongkholal Haokip, Assistant Professor at the Centre for Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

According to the programme, both speakers will deliver separate speeches on the subject. Dr Haoginlen Chongloi, Assistant Professor at Oasis College, will moderate the session, while Mr Helun Hangshing, Secretary of Oasis College, will deliver the vote of thanks.

The organisers have invited members of the public to attend the webinar, describing it as an opportunity to learn, reflect and gain insight into the socio-political history of the Kuki-Zo people in Northeast India.
