Rev. William, a Baptist pastor in Myanmar’s Chin State, was reportedly killed after being detained by the military junta.
He had served Chungcung Baptist Church for more than 25 years.
The pastor leaves behind his wife and five children.
Rev. Dr. Robin Stoops described the death as an extrajudicial killing and called for international accountability.
His death has left his family, church and wider community mourning amid Myanmar’s ongoing conflict.
Prayers have been sought for his family, congregation and Christians facing violence and insecurity across Myanmar.
