Churachandpur Records 180 Suicide Cases Since 2014

LAMKA — A total of 180 suicide cases have been documented in Manipur’s Churachandpur district between 2014 and 2026, according to recent figures released in a local report.

Data shows that nine of those cases were officially recorded in 2026 alone, underlining a persistent mental health crisis in the region. Local organizations had previously raised alarms regarding high suicide rates over the last decade, noting that young adults account for a significant portion of the victims.
