CRPF 232 Bn Organises 10 KM Marathon in Motbung

MOTBUNG, September 05, 2026 — The 232 (M) Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully conducted a 10 KM Marathon at the Motbung Football Ground, Kangpokipi district, Manpur on Saturday, 5 September. Aimed at promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and strong community engagement, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd of 123 runners across various age groups.

The marathon served as a platform to foster discipline, endurance, and unity through athletic participation. Among the runners, eight participants aged above 40 successfully completed the full distance, demonstrating remarkable fitness and sporting spirit. Top 52 finishers were recognized with certificates for their commendable performances.

Several eminent guests attended the event to encourage the runners. Prominent dignitaries included international footballer Seiminlen Doungel, Commandant Ranjan Kumar Baruah (112 Bn CRPF), Commandant Ashok Kumar Singh (94 Bn CRPF), CMO (SG) Dr. Uma Shankar Verma, Motbung Sports Club Secretary Peter Minthang, and Assistant Commandant Aiswarya Joy M (G/232 Bn CRPF).

Following the conclusion of the race, the winners were felicitated with cash prizes, medals, and certificates presented by the dignitaries:

  • 1st Place: Lamchungngai Kipgen (Cash Prize: ₹10,000)

  • 2nd Place: Phalhoineng Kipgen (Cash Prize: ₹6,000)

  • 3rd Place: Simran Basnet (Cash Prize: ₹4,000)

The event concluded with an overwhelming response from local sports enthusiasts and the general public, highlighting the CRPF battalion’s ongoing commitment to building strong community relations and fostering a healthy lifestyle through sports.
