NSCN-IM Raises Naga Political Question at XXI UNPO General Assembly

THE National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) presented its position on the Indo-Naga political process at the XXI UNPO General Assembly, held in the Hague from 29–30 August 2026, calling for a principled, political, and durable settlement to the Naga issue.

The address was delivered by Mr. Apam Muivah, Steering Committee Member and Coordinator, Alee (Foreign) Affairs, Europe.

 KEY POINTS

Historical & Political Question: NSCN-IM argued that the Naga issue is a historical and political question rather than merely an administrative or law-and-order matter.

2015 Framework Agreement: The address highlighted the 3 August 2015 Framework Agreement and the recognition of the Nagas' “unique history and situation” as central to the ongoing political process.

Flag & Constitution: NSCN-IM said disagreements over the Naga flag and constitution reflect deeper questions of political identity, dignity and recognition.
