LAMKA, October 25, 2026: In a meaningful step towards strengthening unity, preserving identity and bringing the Thangkhal community closer together, a new unit of the Thangkhal Tribe Organisation (TTO) was formed in Teikot village on Monday (24 Oct ) for the 2026–2029 term.
The formation of the new unit marks another important milestone in the collective journey of the Thangkhal people, reflecting their shared commitment to community development, cultural identity and the well-being of future generations.
The following office bearers were elected to lead the unit for the next three years:
President: Mr Kapsuanlian
Vice-President: Mr Ginzasung
Secretary: Mr Thangmuanlal
Information Secretary: Mr Kapminlian
Finance-cum-Treasurer: Miss Chingnuamniang
Following their election, the newly appointed executive members took their oath of office, administered by Mr Chinzagen, President of TTO General Headquarters (GHQ). The ceremony concluded with a blessing prayer offered by Mrs Lunkhanchiin, the village chief, seeking God's guidance, wisdom and strength for the new leadership.
The establishment of the Teikot unit is more than the formation of an organisational body; it represents a shared hope for a stronger and more united Thangkhal community. With collective responsibility, mutual understanding and a spirit of service, the new leadership is expected to work towards the welfare of the people while upholding the community's identity, traditions and values.
As the newly elected leaders begin their tenure, the community looks forward to a new chapter of cooperation, progress and togetherness, with the hope that the unit will serve as a bridge connecting generations and strengthening the bonds among the Thangkhal people.
