Kuki Inpi Manipur Extends Lui-Ngai-Ni Greetings, Calls for Peace and Harmony
Lamka, Feb 15, 2026: Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of the Kuki tribes, has extended warm greetings to all communities on the occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed-sowing festival celebrated across the region.
In a greeting message issued by CH. Ajang Khongsai, President of Kuki Inpi Manipur in February 14, the organisation conveyed its sincere wishes for blessings, good health, peace, and prosperity to every family and community celebrating the festival.
The statement highlighted the importance of nurturing understanding and harmony among communities, noting that relationships require care and mutual respect. KIM appealed to people to choose peace, patience, and cooperation, emphasizing that the Nagas and Kukis have shared the land for generations and that the future depends on unity and understanding.
The organisation also urged everyone to ensure safe, free, and peaceful movement of people during the celebrations, stressing that no individual should face fear or difficulty while participating in the festival.
Referring to Christian values, the message encouraged people to be guided by love, forgiveness, and reconciliation. KIM expressed hope that Lui-Ngai-Ni would strengthen unity, goodwill, and lasting peace among all communities.
Zomi Council Welcomes Dy CM During Lamka Visit
Lamka, Feb 15, 2026: The Zomi Council welcomed and greeted Shri L. Dikho, the Deputy Chief Minister, during his maiden visit to the Zomi Council Office in Lamka town on his way to grace the final match of the Zomi Nam Ni Football Tournament on February 14. The interaction was brief but meaningful, and both sides exchanged views on current issues in a positive manner.
During the meeting, they spoke about the importance of maintaining peace and stability, considering the fluid situation in Manipur. They also discussed the need for better infrastructure in the hill areas, especially improving the education scenario and supporting long-term development. The plight of tribal IDPs who have not yet received relief and rehabilitation schemes was also discussed.
