NSCN/GPRN Denies Role in Ukhrul Ambush

GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF NAGALIM MINISTRY OF INFORMATION & PUBLICITY Press Statement Hebron: July 6, 2026 This is for the information of the general public that the reported ambush on a convoy of the Indian Armed Forces at Nungshang River areas, Hungpung village at approximately 1:30 PM today, allegedly carried out by an armed group suspected to be the breakaway Eastern Flank faction, has no connection whatsoever with the NSCN/GPRN . Two Assam Rifles Personnel Martyred in Ukhrul Ambush

Ukhrul, July 6, 2026: Two Assam Rifles personnel were martyred after suspected Naga militants ambushed their convoy on National Highway 202 near Noungshong Khong village under Ukhrul Police Station in Manipur's Ukhrul district on Monday, 6 July 2026. Following the attack, additional security forces were immediately deployed to the area. An exchange of fire reportedly took place between the security personnel and the suspected militants as reinforcements responded to the ambush.
