12 March 2024: An intense four-hour clash broke out in Kale Township, Sagaing Region on Sunday afternoon when at least 17 People's Defense Force groups jointly attacked a military unit, including Pyu Saw Htee militia members, based at the pro-military village of Sakhan Gyi, said the Defense Ministry of the civilian National Unity Government (NUG).
The military unit faced resistance attacks while advancing into Kan Tharyar Village. At least two regime forces were killed and many others injured, while six PDF fighters were injured.
The PDF groups seized 29 weapons and some ammunition from the military unit.
