KUDOS TO PUCL FOR CHAMPIONING THE TRUTH
The World Kuki-Zo Intellectual Council (WKZIC) extends its heartfelt appreciation and support for the ‘People’s Union for Civil Liberties’ (PUCL) report on the ongoing violence in Manipur. The report sheds light on the atrocities faced by marginalised Kuki-Zo communities in Manipur, India and highlights the urgent need for justice, accountability and peace.
WKZIC commends PUCL’s tireless efforts in documenting Human Rights violations and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities. The report’s findings and recommendations are a crucial step towards addressing the root causes of the violence and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. We stand in solidarity with PUCL’s commitment to upholding human rights and promoting peace and justice in Manipur. WKZIC urges the government and other stakeholders to take immediate action to address the concerns raised in the report and work towards a lasting solution to the crisis.
We also strongly commend CSOs and Individuals who knew the truth but blamed PUCL over the “Factual Report” of PUCL as they did over “United Nations (UN) Experts” who raised alarm about reports of “Serious Human Rights Violations and Abuses in Manipur 2023”, such as:
i) COCOMI (Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity) who rejected the report, calling it "biased, misleading, and politically engineered" and blamed PUCL of vilifying the Meitei community and accused of legitimizing Kuki-Zo UT demand under Article 239A of the Indian Constitution as separatist aspirations of Chin-Kuki and tagged Kukis as narco-terrorist groups, without knowing that Manipur’s largest narcotic firm is “ITOCHA INTERNATIONAL DRUG CARTEL” owned by a Meitei capitalist, where former CM N. Biren Singh is a part of the infamous Cartel (DSP Thounaojam Brinda).
ii) Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, advisor of radical MEITEI LEEPUN who lambasted the report, calling it "totally wrong, biased, one-sided, baseless and ungrounded", and demands a strong probe against the PUCL.
iii) Former Manipur CM N Biren Singh, advisor of radical Arambai Tenggol (AT) who criticized the report, stating it serves only to deepen the divide, prolong mistrust, and may even promote misunderstanding who masterminded Kuki Genocide in Manipur.
iv) Human Rights International Freedom (HRIF) who alleged the report as "not only blatantly one-sided but is also replete with unverified facts, misinformation, and a clear bias in favor of the Kuki community", forgetting hundreds of Kukis butchered on the streets and thousands of Kukis forced to leave their homes from Manipur Valley.
v) Maheshwar Thounaojam who demands a legal investigation into PUCL’s activities, rejecting the report’s false allegations against the Meitei community.
vi) Lok Sabha MP Bimol Akoijam for slamming the PUCL Report as biased and insensitive, instigating the common people.
Thereby leading to file an FIR upon PUCL by the so called People’s Alliance for Peace and Progress (PAPP), by the Pseudo Peace Alliance is illogical, who do not know that peace will never come by filing an FIR upon PUCL.
