Heavy fighting erupted along the Asia Highway connecting Kale City and Tamu Township near the Myanmar–India border on October 22, according to local sources. The clashes intensified as military forces reportedly blocked the two-lane highway, cutting off transport and supply routes.
Residents told the MFP that around 30,000 people from more than 50 villages have fled into nearby jungles over the past week due to ongoing military operations in the Sagaing Region's Kale–Tamu area. The displaced villagers are said to be in urgent need of food, clean water, and medical assistance.
