FIFA World Cup 2026 | R0-32: Spain 3 – 0 Austria

SPAIN produced another dominant display to defeat AUSTRIA 3-0 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 at Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood, on 3 July 2026. La Roja controlled the match from the opening whistle, dictated possession with confidence, and rarely allowed Austria an opportunity to threaten. Their composed performance earned them a well-deserved place in the Round of 16 and reinforced their status as one of the tournament favourites.

AUSTRIA defended with determination during the early stages but eventually conceded in the 36th minute when Mikel Oyarzabal calmly finished from close range. Spain continued to dominate after the break and doubled their advantage in the 66th minute through Pedro Porro, who headed home from a well-delivered cross. AUSTRIA struggled to cope with Spain's relentless passing and attacking movement, while the Spanish defence remained solid throughout. Oyarzabal sealed the victory with his second goal in the 89th minute, completing a comfortable and professional performance.

SPAIN now march confidently into the Round of 16 after another impressive display, having once again showcased their quality in both attack and defence. AUSTRIA leave the tournament with pride after reaching the knockout stage but were outclassed by a side that looked in complete control throughout the contest. Spain's disciplined and clinical football once again demonstrated why they are among the strongest contenders for the FIFA World Cup 2026 title.
