From 2017–2021, the Hills received only ₹419 crore out of ₹21,900 crore. A stark reminder of inequality in development. Our people deserve fairness, justice, and equal treatment.
****
My heart is heavy after seeing these numbers.
From 2017–2021, Manipur received ₹21,900 crore in budget allocation.
But the Hills—our home, our people, our land—received only ₹419 crore, while the Valley received ₹21,481 crore.
How can this not break our hearts?
We travel the hardest roads…
We live in the most difficult terrain…
We face the highest cost for every small development…
Yet we receive the least.
This is not just a statistic.
This is our daily reality—our children walking miles to school, our patients being carried on foot, our villages without proper roads, water, or hospitals.
We are not asking for privilege.
We are asking for fairness.
We are asking for justice.
We are asking to be treated as equal human beings in our own state.
If this allocation is true, then it is time for us to speak up—peacefully, truthfully, and boldly.
Our people deserve better.
Our future deserves better.
Our Hills deserve better.
