New Delhi, May 27, 2026: Major P. Esther Vungngailun, wife of Khamlianlal @ Khams Zotal from Immanuel Khopi village, Lamka, has received the prestigious Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Commendation Card.
The award was presented by General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, during the inauguration of the 3T MRI facility at Army Hospital Research & Referral, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi, today, May 27, 2026.
Maj Esther has been serving at AHRR, New Delhi since 2022 and worked as the VIP Ward Incharge for the last two and a half years with dedication and excellence.
The COAS Commendation Card is exceptionally awarded to Indian Army personnel of all ranks, civilians, paramilitary personnel, and foreign military personnel who have shown outstanding professional excellence and faithful service.
Maj Esther will soon be posted to 12 Air Force Hospital, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She joined Military Nursing Service in 2011 and was commissioned in 2014.
She is reportedly the only person from the Zou community to have received this prestigious award from the Chief of Army Staff.
