Tamenglong launches IEC Campaign for Tribal Welfare

Tamenglong, May 18, 2026 (DIO): The Janjatiya Garima Utsav 2026 Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan, under the theme “Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle,” was launched today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Tamenglong. The programme, held under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, was inaugurated by Namthango Kahmei, MCS, Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the nodal officer for the campaign.

The launch was attended by Kachamthai F. Gangmei, Chief Executive Officer, ADC Tamenglong; D. Meidinbui, Sub-Divisional Officer, Tamenglong; Dr. Majachunglu, Chief Medical Officer, Tamenglong; and officers from various line departments.

Under the outreach initiative, services will reach 38 villages in the DAJGUA cluster. Health camps will be organised in six cluster villages. To start with, the campaign will be held at Dailong Community Hall on 19 May 2026 to serve the residents of Sonram, Tharon and Dailong. The programme will continue until 25 May 2026.

During the outreach, all line departments will provide the services and benefits available under their respective mandates to villagers, aiming to ensure last-mile delivery and improved access to government schemes in remote communities.
