LAMKA, June 5, 2026: Police have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her three-year-and-five-month-old son, whose body was reportedly recovered from a well in front of their residence at Khominthang, New Lamka.
According to a police report, the case was registered following a complaint lodged by Mr. Lianmuansang of Khominthang. He reported that his son, identified as Lianson Tonsing, was found dead in the well located in front of their house.
The complainant further alleged that his wife, Mrs. Hoihnunsang, had confessed to killing the child.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered as FIR No. 07(06)2026 at Women Police Station, Churachandpur, under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Police arrested the accused, Mrs. Hoihnunsang, at around 3:30 pm on June 5, 2026. Further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
Police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
