District Administration Noney Hands Over Ex-Gratia to Next of Kin of Victims

Noney, July 27, 2026 (DIO Noney):  The District Administration, Noney today facilitated the disbursement of ex-gratia assistance to the next of kin (NoK) of a deceased victim and two grievously injured persons affected by the unfortunate incident that occurred on May 13, 2026 in between Zoujangtek and Longsai Part -2 village under Noney District,Manipur.

An ex-gratia amount of ₹10 lakh was provided to Smt. Thoirethei Thanga, wife of Late Wilson Thanga of Dollang Chiru Village,Noney District  as financial assistance following the demise of her husband in the incident.

Further, ex-gratia assistance of ₹1 lakh each was extended to the two grievously injured victims, Shri Olive Jatung and Smt. Aroma Jatung, in recognition of the hardships suffered by them.

The ex-gratia assistance has been jointly sponsored by the Government of India and the Government of Manipur. The sanctioned amounts have been directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ respective bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

This handover was done by Christian Home, MCS AC to DC Noney.  The District Administration reiterated the Government’s commitment to extending timely support and relief to victims and their families during times of distress and expressed hope that the assistance would provide some measure of financial security to the affected families.
