KBC Condemns Govajang Killing, Seeks Justice and Peace

Lamka, 12 July 2026: The Kuki Baptist Convention (KBC) has strongly condemned the killing of Mr. Haolal Singsit, describing it as a barbaric attack on innocent civilians.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the Convention expressed profound grief over the incident, which took place on the evening of 11 July 2026 at Govajang Village, where Mr. Singsit was reportedly attacked by armed militants while working on his farm with his wife, Mrs. Nemneikim Singsit.

The KBC stated that the late Haolal Singsit was a devoted Christian and a respected member of KBC Church Govajang under KBC Gambih No. 6. At the time of his death, he was serving as the Church Secretary of KBC Church Govajang and Treasurer of the Men's Department of KBC Gambih No. 6.

Expressing deep concern over the continued attacks on innocent civilians and church workers, the Convention said such acts violate the sanctity of human life, which is created in the image of God. It urged those responsible to renounce violence, repent, and seek forgiveness.

The KBC also called on the authorities to uphold the rule of law, ensure the safety and security of all civilians, and deliver justice to the victims and their families without delay. It further appealed to all communities to reject hatred and violence and to promote peace, coexistence, and communal harmony.

Reaffirming its commitment to peace among all communities in Manipur, the KBC entrusted the soul of the deceased to Almighty God and prayed for comfort and strength for the bereaved family, the church, and the wider community during this time of grief.
