Lamka, July 31, 2026: The Kuki National Army (KNA) has announced a major organisational restructuring by dissolving its Presidential form of government and replacing it with a Military Council (MC).
According to an official notification issued by the Office of the Kuki National Army, Government of Zale'n-gam, the decision was taken on 31 July 2026 during a meeting held at Camp Salem.
The order states that Pu P.S. Haokip has been removed from the post of President of the KNA. It further declares that the organisation will now function under a Military Council (MC) instead of the previous Presidential system.
The notification was jointly signed by TS. Touthang, Defence Secretary, KNA-MC, and Brave Kuki, Commander-in-Chief, KNA-MC. Copies of the order were also marked to the Committee on Tribal Unity (CWC-KNO) and the Guard File.
The announcement marks a significant organisational change within the KNA, with the Military Council assuming leadership responsibilities effective immediately.
