A Naga village guard was killed and several others are reportedly missing following an exchange of fire with CoBRA forces near Bitiang at around 6:00 am on 29 July 2026.The deceased has been identified as Lanbimei Riamei, son of Kadirang Riamei, from Longmai Bazar, Noney distrcit, Manipur.
Search operations are currently underway, while additional security personnel have been deployed to the area as efforts continue to locate the missing individuals and assess the situation.
