PHERZAWL, July 30 2026 (DIO): The District Administration of Pherzawl has stepped up preparations for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations, with Deputy Commissioner Anunay Anand, IAS, directing all departments to ensure meticulous planning and seamless coordination for the successful conduct of the event.
The directive came during a high-level review meeting attended by District Level Officers (DLOs), where the administration assessed the district's preparedness and finalized departmental responsibilities for the celebrations.
Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner outlined the specific roles and responsibilities of each department and urged officials to work in close coordination to ensure that every aspect of the programme is executed efficiently. He stressed that collective efforts and effective inter-departmental cooperation would be key to conducting the celebrations in a befitting manner.
The meeting reviewed arrangements for rehearsals, venue management, ceremonial protocols, security, logistics and other operational aspects to ensure a smooth and dignified observance of Independence Day.
Preparations for the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the observance of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day were also reviewed, underscoring the district administration's commitment to promoting national pride and commemorating significant historical events.
Among those present at the meeting were Superintendent of Police T. Lalboi Haokip, MPS, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lalthazam, MCS, Deputy Conservator of Forests S.L. Niangthianhoi, IFS, and other district officials.
