Security Forces Recover Arms, Ammunition in Imphal

Imphal, 28 July 2026: Security forces on Tuesday recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and communication equipment during a search operation in the foothills of Seijang Cheirao Ching area in Imphal district.

The recovered items included one .303 rifle with a magazine, three 12-bore single-barrel guns, one .22 rifle, one anti-riot gun, three mortar shells, two No. 36 hand grenades, 43 live rounds of ammunition of various calibres, three tear smoke grenades, five wireless sets, and one AK rifle magazine.

The recovery was made as part of ongoing security operations aimed at preventing the illegal possession and use of weapons in the region. Authorities have reiterated their appeal for the surrender of illegal arms in support of the #DisarmForPeace initiative.
