Floodwaters Inundate River Belt Colony in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, August 8, 2026: Floodwaters have inundated parts of River Belt Colony in Dimapur, with a rescue operation underway as rising water levels affect residential areas.

A photograph taken early Saturday morning shows disaster-response personnel using an inflatable rescue boat to navigate through the flooded locality. A vehicle can also be seen partially submerged in the muddy floodwater.

The flooding has affected roads and surrounding areas, with debris and floating waste visible across the inundated stretch. The rescue team appears to be engaged in movement and assistance operations in the affected area.

The situation comes amid continuing heavy rainfall across parts of Nagaland, raising concerns over flooding in low-lying areas of Dimapur and other vulnerable locations.

Authorities and disaster-response teams are expected to continue monitoring the situation and assisting affected residents as necessary.
