Lamka, August 9, 2026 (DIO): The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 began across Churachandpur district today, with Deputy Commissioner Shri Krishna Kumar, IAS, urging citizens to actively participate in the nationwide initiative ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day.
Addressing the public, Shri Krishna Kumar said the National Flag is much more than a piece of cloth, representing the hopes, aspirations and sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom.
He urged households, institutions and organisations to hoist the Tiranga with dignity and in accordance with the Flag Code of India.
The Deputy Commissioner said the campaign is intended as a people’s movement, with the District Administration working with government departments, educational institutions, village authorities and community organisations.
Various activities, including Tiranga exhibitions, rallies, cycle and bike rallies, illumination of government buildings and Tiranga-themed rangolis, are being organised across the district.
National Flags are also being distributed to households, while citizens are encouraged to join the “Selfie with Tiranga” initiative through the official portal.
Shri Krishna Kumar made a special appeal to young people to become ambassadors of the campaign by taking part in rallies, cultural programmes and social media activities.
He said the success of Har Ghar Tiranga depends on the active participation of every citizen and called upon the people of Churachandpur to celebrate Independence Day with unity, respect and pride.
