At Tedim Road, Thingkangphai, the groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony for Hotel Providence was held, officially marking the start of construction for what will be Lamka's first-ever four-star hotel.
The project is being developed by Providence Hospitality Services — the same group behind the well-known Providence Guesthouse at BSF Road, Lanva [currently Lamka's top-rated stay] — and is being financed through a loan from the State Bank of India (SBI), which signals strong institutional confidence in the project.

Till now, Churachandpur district has had no 4-star category hotels. All available properties are budget guesthouses, homestays and 2/3-star equivalents.
