Kangpokpi, August 14, 2026: Two Naga militants were reportedly killed and three others injured in an alleged factional clash involving Naga armed groups at Langka in Kangpokpi district on Thursday.
According to reports, the clash took place between cadres believed to be associated with the NSCN-IM and Naga Village Guards. The identities of those killed and injured have not been officially confirmed.
The incident comes months after the deadly ambush at Kasom Khullen on March 28, 2026, in which three cadres of the NSCN-EF were reportedly killed in an attack allegedly carried out by the NSCN-IM.
Naga armed groups have in recent months faced growing internal disagreements and leadership-related disputes, contributing to factional tensions and hostility among different groups.
The latest incident has raised fresh concerns over escalating friction among Naga armed factions in the region.
