14 CSOs Urge Nemcha Kipgen to Attend Manipur Assembly Session

Imphal, September 2, 2026: Fourteen civil society organisations (CSOs) have urged Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen to attend the upcoming Manipur Assembly session in Imphal and participate in the proceedings without any obstruction.

The organisations also appealed to all political leaders in the state to attend the Assembly session and move an Adjournment Motion to facilitate discussion on the prevailing issues confronting Manipur.

In a statement dated September 1, the CSOs said Kipgen, who represents the Kuki community and serves as Deputy Chief Minister, should attend the Assembly proceedings in Imphal. They stressed that people from all communities should have the freedom to travel and participate in democratic processes.

The appeal was made during a press meet held on Monday at the Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) Mayai Loishang at Khuyathong, Imphal.
