IMPHAL — RSS Manipur Prant has issued an official statement strongly condemning the tragic and untimely death of respected Manipuri musician Chongtham Vikram following a brutal assault in New Delhi.
According to reports, the incident occurred in Kilokri, New Delhi, after Vikram went downstairs from his apartment upon noticing a group of six men allegedly drinking and causing a public disturbance. When he asked the group to keep the noise down, they allegedly attacked him, inflicting severe injuries to which he later succumbed.
Expressing deep anguish over the incident, RSS Manipur Prant stated that no individual should have to endure such brutality for simply asking neighbours to maintain peace and consideration in a residential area.
The organisation urged concerned authorities to conduct a swift, impartial, and thorough investigation to ensure all those responsible are brought to justice under the law.
Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, fellow artists, and the wider Manipuri community, RSS Manipur Prant expressed that the loss of the talented artist is deeply painful for the people of Manipur and offered prayers for the family's strength to bear the irreparable loss.
