LAMKA, September 12, 2026: A team of 5 Assam Rifles arrested three cadres of the United Socialist Revolutionary Army (USRA) during an operation conducted on September 10 and 11 in the general area of Munpi Village under Henglep Sub-Division of Churachandpur district.
The three arrested USRA cadres were identified as Khual (35), son of Songneilal of Munpi Village, Henglep Sub-Division, Churachandpur; Money Chiru (30), son of Jonathan Chiru of Nungrai Village, Bishnupur district; and Thanglalmuan (25), son of Kamneilun of Nghathal Village, Churachandpur district.
During the operation, the Assam Rifles team recovered five assault rifles, including one 7.62 mm HKG 3 Assault Rifle, one 5.56 mm A1 Assault Rifle, one 5.56 mm M22 Assault Rifle and two 7.62 mm AK-47 Rifles.
In addition to the firearms, the security forces recovered seven magazines of different arms, 298 rounds of ammunition of different calibres and five tactical pouches.
The arrested individuals, along with the recovered weapons, ammunition and other items, were taken into custody for further investigation.
