PHERZAWL, August 14 2026: Deputy Commissioner of Pherzawl, Shri Anunay Anand, IAS accompanied by ADC Zousanglur Joute inspected several completed and ongoing development projects and educational institutions in the district today, taking stock of the progress and status of key public infrastructure. PHERZAWL, August 14 2026: Partition Horrors Remembrance Day (Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas) was observed at Parbung Hr. Sec. School in Pherzawl district today, with students and teaching staff paying solemn tribute to the victims of the Partition of India in 1947. The observance recalled the immense human suffering caused by the Partition, including widespread communal violence, loss of lives and the forced displacement of an estimated 10 to 20 million people. Kangpokpi, August 14, 2026: The Mayangkhang Village Authority in Kangpokpi district has strongly rejected allegations by the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO)–Sadar Hills regarding the alleged hijacking of a Bolero pickup belonging to Lamtingchon Chonbloi at Mayangkhang Thangal village. Liangmai Council Declares Emergency Shutdown in Manipur

Imphal, August 14, 2026: The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNC-M) has declared an immediate emergency total shutdown across all Liangmai Naga-inhabited areas of Manipur following an alleged attack in which two Naga Village Volunteers were killed and several others injured. According to a statement issued by the LNC-M on Friday, the incident took place at around 7:30 am on August 14, 2026.
