Lamka, May 5, 2025 — In a significant development, the Zomi Council held a one-on-one meeting today between its Chairman, Pu Vumsuan Naulak, and BJP National Spokesperson and Member of Parliament, Shri Sambit Patra, at the STC BSF Campus. The 30-minute interaction was marked by sincerity and mutual respect.
Shri Patra sought the Council's views on the recovery of thousands of arms and ammunition looted during recent unrest, and expressed interest in identifying peace-loving communities to help restore stability in the region.
Chairman Naulak spoke candidly about the suffering, displacement, and ongoing pain endured by the Zomi people. Shri Patra listened attentively, showing empathy and a strong interest in understanding the ground realities.
The Zomi Council expressed appreciation for the opportunity to voice their concerns in a respectful dialogue and hoped the meeting would mark a step toward peace through justice.
