Unveiling their extreme hypocrisy, eight Naga legislators have colluded with 32 Meitei MLAs in submitting a representation to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India demanding the withdrawal of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) Agreement with Kuki-Zomi-Mizo militant groups and implementation of the NRC in the State, besides maintaining that a Separate Administration sought by Kuki-Zomi-Mizo groups was absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances.
The Kuki-Zomi-Mizo community is taken aback by the absolute betrayal of the eight Naga legislators in colluding with the majority Meiteis. The rally organized by the United Naga Council (UNC) on August 10th 2023 for an acceptable and honorable solution to the “India-Naga political issue in the true spirit of the historic Indo-Naga Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015” was supported by the Kuki-Zomi-Mizo community as the two tribals groups, namely the Naga and the Kuki-Zomi- Mizo groups, share the same aspirations – to be free from the clutches of Meitei hegemony. However, the eight Naga legislators have defied all forms of sanity, without realizing who they are and whose voice they represent.
The Joint Students' Body Lamka in the strongest term condemns the indecisive decision of the eight Naga legislators for ignoring the sentiments of the people they represent.
The Joint Students' Body Lamka also hereby declares a public social boycott against these eight Naga legislators in Lamka District for going against the wishes of their connatural people.
