Illegal Taxes on KPI-Lamka Route Exposed

This so-called "KPI to Lamka tax list" is nothing short of daylight robbery written on a piece of paper. Each village, group or armed outfit along the route has slapped its own arbitrary "tax" on the people, shamelessly reducing the common public to a source of easy cash. From ₹50 here, ₹200 there, to a shocking ₹2,500 at Keicho Thaona, the total bleeds into ₹8,900 for just one passage. Even the Tupul Police—who are supposed to protect the people—appear on the list with ₹100, a shameful sign of how deep corruption runs.

What is most disturbing is not only the number of stops, but also the complete normalization of this extortion. It has been neatly tallied, as if it were a legitimate government ledger, when in reality it represents lawlessness and oppression. Instead of boosting trade and connectivity, these "taxes" choke the economy, inflate prices, and discourage any spirit of honest work.

The silence of authorities makes it worse—people are left to fend for themselves while extortion thrives unchecked. This practice is nothing but organized looting that cripples communities, pushes families into deeper poverty, and erodes any sense of trust in governance. Enough is enough; such exploitation must end.
